Meditations:

Meditation can be a great way to finding inner peace or just for relaxation. However the problems faced by those who are new to meditation seem great indeed. After all, to still a mind full of thoughts and comments seems as difficult as catching the wind. But there are methods and procedures you can take to reach that calm, inner space that bypass the struggle we think we will or should have. This has a highly motivating effect as it shows us that we can quieten the mind, relinquishing its thoughts in love and compassion rather than making them your enemy to fight and struggle with. To reach the depths of the peace and harmony that meditation brings still requires practice and patience. But the rewards are so compelling and real.

Meditation has a variety of uses, I use meditation in the circles and workshops I run to help people become aware of communication from our spirit guides and angels, I also use them in personal development groups as an aid to growth and development.

Below you will find some meditations to practise towards a higher awareness of the presence of your guides, angels and above all, Love. I hope you find them useful!

First sit in an upright position which supports you and you find comfortable, close your eyes and clear your mind, this may take a few minutes to achieve.

Imagine you are on a desert island the sun is warm on your back, and the sand is warm beneath your feet, behind you you can see the colours of the plants and trees, and in front of you there is the sea. At a nice distance from the shoreline you can see some crystals. They glow with powerful, purifying rays that cleanse your body with white light, making you feel as light as the light itself. As you see and sense the energy from the crystals you feel cleansed and refreshed. Now you find yourself moving towards the water. And now you enter into the water. It is beautifully warm and soft, like velvet against your skin. You can glide effortlessly in these waters, it feels more like flying than swimming, much more like flying. The same energy as the crystals begins to suffuse the water around you, and the border of where you begin and where the warmth and softness of the water begins becomes a little blurred, and that's so nice. Letting go of all your cares is so nice...as you effortlessly glide through the water in ways that most please you. You are free here. Totally free to glide and turn, to fly upwards or to go deeper into the purity and peace of the water.

After a while, whenever you want the while to be, you are joined by some dolphins, who are so sleek, so graceful. As they fly through the water, you join them. You can keep up with them so easily here...in the middle of them, you share their joy and pleasure in these beautiful surroundings. As you do, your heart begins to open. You can sense that opening in your chest, and the freedom and the peace is so real that your mind sinks to the level of your heart. You are now even thinking with your heart now. The rays of love and peace that emanates from it become your new thoughts and feelings.

And now the dolphins fade into the sunbeams that enter the water, like columns of light in a great cathedral of the sea...and you feel so rested in your heart, so real and in touch with love, you close your eyes and....

...you find yourself meditating upon the beach with the blessing that has opened your heart strong within you. And you await, without expectation, for the next moment of stillness, and then another, and another. Now extend your heart-mind and see who has joined you. It could be a guide or an angel, or a loved one from the realms of spirit, see what they have to say to you.

When you are ready, your heart closes and your chest returns to normal, but your mind still retains the peace and the pleasure of the space of meditation. When you are ready to return to your chair, open your eyes slowly, feeling refreshed and re-energised.
